After the blogger’s disappearance, some unconfirmed claims emerged that he could have been kidnapped by nationalists linked to the notorious Azov battalion, and even executed.
He also accused the Daily Beast of attracting Kiev’s attention to his work and revealing his location to the country’s law enforcers.
The US outlet dedicated a large article to the blogger on March 21, slamming him as a Pro-Putin shill in Ukraine.
In the piece, Daily Beast journalists said they had contacted Ukrainian authorities to learn about the man’s whereabouts and to clarify if he was still in Kharkov in the east of the country.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that a complete European ban on Russian oil and gas imports. would clearly raise global oil prices and may inflict harm on Europe and other parts of the world.

Health officials say they have detected more cases of a mysterious liver disease in children that was first identified in Britain, with new infections spreading to Europe and the U.S.
Last week, British officials reported 74 cases of hepatitis, or liver inflammation, found in children since January.
The usual viruses that cause infectious hepatitis were not seen in the cases, scientists and doctors are considering other possible sources.
Additional cases of hepatitis had been identified in Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain, the European CDC said in a statement Tuesday without specifying exactly how many cases were found.
U.S. officials have spotted nine cases in Alabama in children aged 1 to 6.
Mild hepatitis is very common in children following a range of viral infections, but what is being seen at the moment is quite different, said Graham Cooke, a professor of infectious diseases at Imperial College London.
Some of the children in the U.K. have required specialist care at liver units and a few have needed a liver transplant.

For the first time, researchers have found a cost-effective and convenient way to apply a silver-based antimicrobial clear coating to new or existing textiles.
A range of textile types can be treated by the researchers’ method, and items can be washed multiple times without losing the antimicrobial and therefore anti-odor property.

Polyphenols are found in chocolate and red wine amongst other things, and are responsible for their infamous ability to stain clothing and tablecloths.
Fortunately, the researchers’ coating, called Ag/TA, is completely clear so it doesn’t discolor textiles, but best of all, it can survive being washed.
Joseph Richardson and Associate Professor Hirotaka Ejima have studied polyphenols for over a decade, but this chocolate incident got me thinking about using tannic acid to bind silver to fabrics.
We think we’ve found two methods to apply our antimicrobial silver coating to textiles, suitable for different use cases.
The first method might be useful for commercial clothing or fabric producers.
Textiles can simply be bathed in a mixture of the silver compound and the polyphenol binder.
Another method, perhaps more suited to small-scale settings, including the home, is to spray items of clothing, first with the silver compound and then with the polyphenol binder.
An obvious advantage is that people can add the coating to existing items of clothing.
But what’s most exciting is not the ease of application, but how effective the coating is, said Richardson.

This isn’t just a hypothetical situation limited to the lab, I’ve tried it on my own shirts, socks, shoes, even my bathmat, said Richardson.
We’d like to see what other useful compounds polyphenols might help bind to fabrics, and Antimicrobial silver might just be the start.

Three U.S. Navy sailors assigned to the USS George Washington aircraft carrier have died within a week.
The causes of their deaths remain under investigation, but the Navy said in a statement that there is no initial indication to suggest there is a correlation between the three deaths.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a bid by four Democratic-leaning states, to lift a cap on federal deductions for state and local taxes, put in place as part of a 2017 tax overhaul under Republican former President Donald Trump.
The justices turned away an appeal by New York, Connecticut, Maryland and New Jersey after a lower court threw out their lawsuit.
The lower court held that the U.S. Congress had broad authority over taxes and did not violate the U.S. Constitution, by placing a $10,000 limit on the amount of state and local taxes that individuals may deduct on federal income tax returns.
The deduction limit, known as the SALT cap, was part of a federal tax law signed by Trump, that slashed the corporate tax rate and implemented an income tax cut for individuals, which tax policy experts said benefited wealthy Americans the most.
Democrats had opposed the law, which was expected to reduce federal revenues by $1.5 trillion over 10 years.
Capping the deduction disproportionately affects high-tax, often Democratic-leaning states, with New York estimating its taxpayers would pay $121 billion of extra federal taxes from 2018 to 2025.
The four states sued Trump’s administration in 2018, calling the cap an unconstitutional attempt to interfere with states’ taxing power, and coerce Democratic-leaning states to cut taxes and the services they pay for.
The Manhattan-based 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last year rejected the states’ arguments, ruling that they did not show that their injuries were significant enough to give rise to a constitutional violation.

The number of poor in India has dropped dramatically from 2011 to 2019, according to a new study.

Extreme poverty in India, the second-most populous country in the world, is estimated to have declined by 12.3 percentage points between 2011 to 2019, according to a World Bank Policy Research Working Paper.
The count dropped from 22.5% in 2011 to 10.2% in 2019 and the decline in rural areas was much higher than in urban areas.
The paper reportedly followed two approaches to estimating extreme poverty.
Both approaches yield qualitatively similar levels and trends in headcount poverty estimated at the $1.90 line, Poverty is about 12.3 percentage points lower in 2019 than 2011, it said.
The study found that extreme poverty in the country declined to 19.1% from 2011 to 2015.
Poverty saw a sharper fall of 9.1 percentage points in the next four years, dropping to 10%.
Extreme poverty between 2017 and 2018 saw the fastest drop in over two decades, statistics showed.
While rural poverty declined by 4.4 percentage points between 2011 and 2015, it fell more sharply during the following four-year period from 21.9% to 11.6%.
Meanwhile, urban poverty saw a sharp decline of 6.6 percentage points, from 12.9% in 2015 to 6.3% in 2019.

Meals with the family were cast aside for TV dinners, as the rise of the hypnotic box took over peoples lives, along with the MK Ultra gaming machines.
The latter of which has done far more damage than many realize.
The 2 channels became 4 and it cost around $30-40 a year for a BBC license.
Now it is $180 a year in the UK whether you watch BBC or not.
Then there is the cable bill which can cost anything from $80-200 a month with internet service, and then the greed based marketeers decided to split the channels up, and add extra charges for more drivel based channels.
Then came the new phase of subscriber packages of Netflix, Apple, Amazon and other TV services and more cost was added to your budget.
Next came the rise of tv phone subscriptions and more costs to our pockets, not to mention the cost of the phones and the rise in costs of just using it to phone and text.
The question remains is, was it all worth it?

So the solution is simple, raise the frequency.

Many of us grew up with difficult and hurtful parents who spoke critically, with the intent to demean.
Controlling and putting you down, was the modus operandi, but not all children are the same, and so all cannot be shoehorned into the perfect child created by the establishment and cultural rules.
Each word of sarcasm, each thinly veiled joke or put-down undercut your self-esteem.
Each knocked us down a rung in life and kept us from our potential.
Comparisons made to other children succeeding academically, sportingly or other modes, attacks of mediocre performance at school, and harsh language were many parents weapons of choice.
When someone attacks your self-esteem repeatedly, you feel beat down.
It feels like you were meant to fly, but your own family is making you drown.
Then, your natural tendency might be to do to others what someone has done to you.
The classic victim/victimizer program.
Tendencies were to judge and compare others in your mind, to taunt and verbally attack them.
Some got into the habits of sabotaging and hurting others, without thinking much about it.
People assumed that because parents had talked to us harshly and treated us badly, we had the license to do the same to others.
Others could handle the pain because we had, others could endure a verbal lashing because we had, others could handle emotional abuse because we had.
You, too, might have grown up in a household that wounded you deeply.
You might have never been able to leave the shadow of the pain and suffering you experienced, and you might have learned to treat people as others once treated you.
But just because others hurt us, that doesn’t mean we have to continue the cycle of abuse.
You can jump off the hamster wheel and looping sorrow and self pity, and stop playing pass the parcel of your own suffering onto others.
You don’t have to fall into your natural, default behaviors, because you can change.
You can choose different actions and make different decisions, you can break the cycle of negativity, criticism, and abuse.
So, what are the solutions? think and act different is the main course of ending the victim/victimizer cycle.
1. Work on forgiving those who hurt you.
This may be much more easily said than done, but forgiveness is the key to healing.
If you can’t forgive today, at least set the intention to forgive.
It doesn’t matter how tragic or traumatic your past was, you must forgive for yourself.
You’ll feel like a heavy weight has been lifted from your shoulders, you will be able to breathe much more easily.
It helps to put your abuser’s behavior in perspective so you can see their actions in a different light.
Try to understand what influenced their behaviors and characteristics, where your parents raised in a similar way?
Their intentions may have been ultimately good, but the way they went about parenting was misguided.
Look at them through a lens of gratefulness.
What could you appreciate about them, in spite of the pain they caused?
Is there anything you can appreciate about the pain? The people who hurt us in essence were hurting themselves, and if you apply yourself in the right way, you end up with more skill sets than a child who was pampered.
2. Work on your own healing.
Instead of burning in anger and hatred, focus on what you need for your emotional and mental health.
Assess the damage they’ve caused, look at the impact their behavior has had on your life, and determine what you must heal.
Find inner coping mechanisms, write about your hurt, process and heal it and burn the writings in a symbolic letting go.
Open yourself to a spiritual practice, seek the tools and people that can help you heal your emotional wounds.
Cultivate love for yourself, speak to yourself gently, praise your progress.
Let go of your high demands and expectations of yourself, or the low demands and low expectations also.
Notice if how you treat yourself is similar to how the people who hurt you in the past treated you, if you do, just quit it, it serves no one well.
3. Look for alternative role models.
Watch your behavior and notice what you do when others hurt or anger you.
How do you react when others push your buttons?
If you don’t know how to respond or react differently from the people who raised you, look for alternative role models.
Seek people with positive and emotionally healthy ways of responding to personal situations.
Study them, take notes, notice how they handle trying circumstances, and model their behavior in your own interpersonal relationships, until you full accept your own new model.
4. Learn positive and empowering behavior.
If you were taught destructive and dysfunctional ways of being and speaking, opt for alternative ways.
Hold back on hurtful words, convey your needs with softer language, and respect other people’s boundaries.
Practice listening intently instead of responding rashly to what others say to you.
Avoid arguing, making a scene, or verbally attacking someone, agree to disagree and move on, not allow situations to fester.
5. Focus on your reactions instead of the behavior of others.
You can’t control others’ reactions, but you can learn to notice, change, and improve your own.
Look for triggers and other behavior that provokes you.
Notice your immediate reaction when people treat you badly, disrespect you, or lash out against you.
Instead of immediately engaging with this behavior, withdraw, reflect, analyze, and take a thoughtful next step.
Most interactions of this type requires them harvesting your energy, protect it and don’t engage.
6. Spread your light.
Remind yourself that even if you grew up with challenging people and the darkness of human behavior, you get to choose how you treat others and show up in the world.
You can operate by the default of hurting others, or worse, seek revenge.
Which then mimics the harmful and negative habits you witnessed growing up, or you can actively take different steps and make different choices.
You can bring yourself out of the darkness of bad behavior, cruelty, abuse, and negligent child rearing.
You can go out in the world choosing love and spreading your light of compassion and understanding.
You can be the conduit who transforms pain into healing, not only for yourself but for everyone around you.
You can show others who are hurting that forgiveness, understanding, love, and compassion are possible even after you’ve been hurt.
And in doing so, you can help make the world a less hurtful place.
There will always be harmful, hurtful, bitter and twisted people, but the key to it is, how you react to it.
If you stand in the truth, you have no need to engage, those who tend to talk too much ultimately to re-affirm the lie.
In the end, time always tells, that time used to be longer in between, these days it is much closer in “time”.
Standing in truth, means you stand in patience, comfortable in your own skin and field, which means you didn’t become the victim.
Whilst the liar and victimizer suffers each day until the lie is burst.
Then it is a matter of how they react to the truth bursting forth.
